PurposeFull People
PurposeFull People highlights multiple key character traits students need to be successful and includes social-emotional lessons and activities that correspond with each of those traits. By addressing a particular character trait each month, students are made aware of how demonstrating these characteristics can support a healthier and safer environment for all. The PurposeFULL People curriculum will be integrated into daily Community Circle discussions in the classroom and incorporated into counselor-led guidance lessons. Throughout the year, teachers and staff can nominate students who are seen demonstrating any of the PurposeFULL People character traits. When nominated, the student will be featured on the morning announcements and receive a certificate. For a complete list of Character Traits for the 2020-2021 year please click the link below.
PALS
The Katy Independent School district has a very special mentoring program called PALS (Peer Assistance Leadership Skills). Our school has been fortunate enough to be paired with PALS from Seven Lakes High School who will act as mentors to selected students at Alexander Elementary. These high school students have met eligibility through training standards and participated in a selection process to become one of these dynamic peer leaders. Alexander students are nominated for this program by RAE staff members, and parent consent is required. Students are chosen for PALS based on a variety of reasons. PALS are considered an extra cheerleader, a role model, a support system, an encourager, an ear to listen, and so much more.

RAE Guides
One boy and one girl in each K-5th grade homeroom class is selected by their teacher as a RAE Guide. RAE Guides welcome new RAE students that enroll in their homeroom class throughout the year and show them around the school, introduce them to teachers/staff and other students in their grade level, answer any questions the new student may have, and so much more.
PBIS
What Is PBIS?
● PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) is a proactive, school wide framework to teach and positively reinforce behavior within our building.
● Relationship building with students is critical.
● Expectations are set and taught for all settings (classroom, hallway, café, etc.).
● Interventions help teach appropriate behaviors to students.
● Acknowledgement of students displaying appropriate behaviors is essential.
At Alexander Elementary, we have created the gRAEt Framework to teach and positively reinforce behavior and school wide expectations.
